2016 Virginia International Tattoo DrumLine Battle Schedule

The weekend of April 21st will see the 20th annual Virginia International Tattoo and second annual DrumLine Battle come to Scope Arena in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary, the Virginia International Tattoo welcomes more than 900 performers from eight countries who will share their unique music, dance, culture and pride with the Tattoo audience. Expect international military bands and rifle displays, highland dancers and loads of pipes and drums!

The weekend’s DrumLine Battle Schedule is:

Thursday, April 21
6:00    Jordan Armed Forces Bagpipe Band vs. Combined Australian Drum line (51 ACU & PLC Pipe Band)
6:15    Top Secret Drum Corps vs. US Air Force Drum and Bugle Corps Veterans
6:30    Winner 1 vs. Winner 2

Friday, April 22
6:00    US Marine Corps Band, Quantico  vs. Us Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Band
6:15    Canadian Forces Base 8 Wing Trenton Pipes and Drums vs. Rhythm Project
6:30    Winner 1 vs. Winner 2

Saturday, April 23
5:00    Canadian Forces Base 8 Wing Trenton Pipes and Drums vs. US Marine Corps Band, Quantico
5:15    Old Dominion University vs. Top Secret Drum Corps
5:30    Winner 1 vs. Winner 2

Sunday, April 24
1:00    Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums vs. Rhythm Project

DrumLine Battle is a program of Drum Corps International that showcases percussion ensembles of any instrumentation and skill level year-round, spotlighting their unique talents and creativity in a high energy face-to-face competition. With drummers from Australia, Canada, Jordan, Switzerland and the United States, you can expect some exciting DrumLine Battles this year at the Virginia International Tattoo!

Free and open to the public, Scope Plaza will be packed with be lively music and dancing, craft beer and tasty treats.
